Scam Warning: Booking Ignored, Overpriced Walk-Ins Preferred
We visited Uma Desa in person and spoke to the owner, who quoted us a price much higher than the Booking.com rate. We decided to book online instead and paid in full via Booking.com. When we contacted the owner through the WhatsApp number listed on Booking.com to confirm our check-in, he denied that the Booking.com listing was his—despite the photos, address, and phone number clearly matching his property.
He claimed the rooms were already booked and refused to honor our booking, likely preferring to charge walk-in guests a higher price. This left us scrambling last minute for accommodation and felt like a complete scam.
I strongly warn anyone considering booking here to be cautious. If you want to stay, you’ll likely have to book directly and pay much more. This lack of transparency made it one of the worst booking experiences we’ve had in years.
